Calling all Mums to get in the frame!!!

Photographvie is calling all Mums! Does Gerald the hamster get in more selfies than you do?

Are you beginning to realise that the family photo book you dream of creating will only have three pictures of the very top of your head in, whilst there will be countless, beautifully framed ones of your husband holding the baby and pushing your 4 year old along on his new bike? Well now is the time to do something about it. And the beauty of it is- you can give this gift of loveliness to your fellow Mum friends too.

“The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do..”

Andy Warhol

Do you sometimes scroll through your photos and realise the ones you are actually in, are only of your ear or a strange part of your arm, that could also be your leg? I quite often take pictures on my phone of both my kids and my husband, but very rarely do I make sure I am in the picture too. If I am in them, it’s usually a grainy selfie with one of the boys or one of only my left leg where someone who wasn't supposed to has got hold of the phone. Here at Photographvie, being Mums ourselves, we are very passionate about encouraging you all to #Getintheframe. And when it comes to Mums, we know how easy it is to forget to do just that. So read on for some super simple ways to help.

Tell your friends and fellow Mums that you would love them to take pictures of you when they are with you, and ask if they would like you to do the same. I mean who better to take that lovely shot of you giggling with your toddler on the trampoline, or of you sharing that Double-Drizzle-Strawberry Ice Cream Sundae? And don’t fear there are many ways to share the photos with each other without having your whole day shared with the world too. Lots of sites like Dropbox and Google enable you to share pictures only with a specific person. Also some people prefer to use a messaging or private photo sharing app, such as Whatsapp, Cluster or Pixoru.

Take more selfies! I know, I know selfies can just end up being a burst of 20 pictures of your right nostril, especially when you have a toddler hanging off your arm and a 4 year old jumping up and down on your lap. But trust me – the more you take the more likely that there will be a few glowing, golden, beautiful moments captured there. And then you will be thankful you did. If you really want to get into the spirit of it, why not get yourself a seflie stick? You can find very reasonably priced ones at various places online including one at Currys for £9.99 with good reviews and free delivery. Find the link here.

Book yourself into a family photo-shoot. I know it’s easily said and not so easily done, especially if you are feeling like January must contain at least 388 days because your last payday seemed like years ago. In the last few years I have started asking for things that I wouldn’t get for myself for either Birthday or Christmas gifts, such as membership to visit places or spa treatments. So why not include a photo-shoot in your wishlist? Here at Photographvie we have a super range of Mini photo-shoots which are great value for money, and that means you can probably ask for a cheeky spa visit too. Win and win.
